On the Turmoil in Bosnia

Will Bosnia and Herzegovina break up? After threats of secession made by Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik, a new conflict in the Balkans is looming. Bosnia is – together with Ukraine – the place where Europe’s future will be decided, says lawyer and journalist Senad Pećanin. Joining Debates Digital from Sarajevo, he warns that Dodik’s threats are more than just rhetoric ahead of the general elections in October. The war that might ensue will not be contained within the borders of Bosnia – and yet it would be so easy to prevent, says Pećanin. But it would require decisive action by the EU.
